Festivals and Celebrations

Shaar Hashamaim is proud to have the largest Jewish population of India in Thane making the Synagogue the center of Jewish activities and celebrations. We conduct circumcisions, Bar-Mitzvah/Bath-Mitzvah ceremonies, Weddings under Huppa, High Holiday Festivals, Socials functions such as Purim, Shavuoth, Chanukah and Sukkoth, Pesach Seders the Synagogue premises.

We conduct other social celebrations such as celebration of Sephardic Jewish Youth Club, Eve's Associations Annual Function, Indian Zionist Association and the function for Jewish Welfare Association from time to time involving the entire Jewish Community of Maharashtra.

Shaar Hashamaim Synagogue 140th year Celebrations & Chanukah

The management commitee of Shaar Hashamaim Gate of Heaven Synagogue is proud to celebrate its 140th year Anniversary amongst the United Jewish Community of Thane, Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra. The lovely beautiful awesome cake for 140 years was donated by Mr. Abraham Shalom Phansapurkar which was relished by all who were present. All Well wishers, benefactors, donors, members, guest and invitees from other Jewish organizations were present and were honoured and felicitated at the celebration.
